Viewer Analytics¶
Use viewer analytics to understand whether people opened a Page and how they read it. It is available only when your organization enables analytics and your plan and access allow it.
Open analytics¶
- Open Pages and find the Page you manage.
- Open its action menu and choose Analytics, when that option is shown.
- Choose a date range and either All versions or Current version.
- Keep team views included or excluded consistently when comparing periods.
The dashboard can show opens, estimated viewers, engaged reads, reading time, and reading depth. It can also show an empty or unavailable state; neither one proves that nobody read the Page.
Read the numbers carefully¶
- An open is counted after the Page finishes loading.
- Unique viewers are estimates. Anonymous readers can count more than once across a longer date range.
- An engaged read needs at least 10 seconds and a quarter of the Page.
- Dates use UTC, which may differ from your local day.
- Reading time and depth describe activity, not whether a reader understood the Page.
Control what your organization records¶
An organization admin can open Settings → General → Viewer analytics to choose the available recording mode. Counts only keeps totals without per-person rows; Off stops collection on published Pages. Available options depend on the organization’s plan.
Ask an agent for a summary¶
A connected agent with access can use read_page_analytics. Ask for a specific
period and have it include the limits of the data in its answer.
