Agent sharing

Let agents ask to share Pages they created, with a person approving every change.

2 min read

An agent that publishes a Page for you can also ask to share it: add people by email, change their role, remove them, or change who can open the Page. The agent never makes the change itself. It sends you a link, and nothing changes until a person approves it.

On by default

Agent sharing is on for every organization. Agents can only ask; every change still waits for a person to approve it. To stop agents from asking:

  1. Open Settings, then Organization.
  2. Under Agent sharing, turn off Let agents share Pages and change access.

While it is off, an agent that asks is told that agents can't share in this organization, and that an admin can turn it back on.

Approve a change

When an agent asks for a change, it gives you a link. Open it, signed in, to see exactly what it wants, for example "Add jason@example.com as Editor" or "Anyone in your organization can view". A request can include several people for the same operation. Different operations, such as adding people and changing the audience, use separate requests. Every change starts checked. Uncheck any the agent got wrong, then choose Approve to apply the checked ones, or Deny to drop them all.

The agent's person, the Page owner, or an organization admin can decide. Links expire after 7 days. When you approve, the changes apply as you, and the audit log records which agent asked.

Limits on Pro and Enterprise

On Pro and Enterprise plans, admins can also choose:

  • Who agents can share with: This organization keeps agents to members, so they can't ask to add outside people or make a Page public. Anyone allows any email.
  • What agents can ask to change: add people, change roles, remove people, and change general access, each on or off.

On Starter, agents can ask about anyone; every change still needs approval. If you set limits on Pro and later move to Starter, those limits keep applying.

Which Pages

Agents can only ask about Pages they created. Any other Page is changed by a person in the Share dialog.
