Comment on a Page
Pin comments to elements or selected text on a published Page, tag people, agents, or Turner, and manage threads in the Notes panel.
Pin comments to parts of a published Page to leave feedback, ask a colleague or connected agent to follow up, or ask Turner to revise the Page.
Start a comment
Click Comment mode (tooltip Comment, shortcut C) in the toolbar, or tap Comment in the dock on a phone, then click the part of the Page you want to talk about. Press Escape to turn Comment mode off.
On desktop you can also select text without entering Comment mode. A small toolbar appears over your selection with Comment (and Edit text if you can edit the Page). Click Comment to pin a note to that exact text. Editors on desktop also have Edit text mode (shortcut T) in the toolbar for changing text directly on the Page.
How comments attach inside embedded frames depends on where the frame comes from:
- A frame showing one of the Page's own files lets you click individual elements inside it.
- A frame from another site, a sandboxed frame, or inline frame content takes one comment for the whole frame.
- Text inside frames cannot be edited directly.
Write and send
The composer opens where you clicked, with an Add a comment. box and buttons for Add emoji and Mention someone. Click Send (it reads Send to Turner when Turner is tagged), or press Command+Enter on a Mac or Control+Enter elsewhere.
Tag Turner, people, or agents
New comments start with @Turner already in the box, shown as a bold purple chip. Use the Send to Turner toggle in the composer, or press Backspace right after the chip, to remove or re-add it. Turning Send to Turner off is remembered for that browser tab.
When you post a comment that tags Turner, owners and Editor members start a revision right away, while a Commenter request shows Waiting for editor approval until an editor approves it. See Review and revise for how Turner runs the revision and how to review the draft.
Type @ or click Mention someone to tag others. The list shows Turner first, then people (those already on the Page first), then connected agents. People and agents get a blue chip.
- People: Tagging a person sends them an email saying you mentioned them on the Page. See Comment email preferences for how owner notifications work when a comment tags nobody.
- Connected agents: Tagging a connected agent creates a task for that agent without sending an email, and does not count as tagging the agent's owner. Replying in a thread and tagging an agent routes that reply to the agent rather than Turner.
Discard a draft
If you close a comment that has text beyond the default @Turner chip (or unsaved style changes), the composer switches in place to Discard this comment? with the message Your draft has not been posted yet. Choose Keep editing or Discard. An empty draft closes right away.
Escape backs out one layer per press: first the discard prompt, then the composer, then Edit text mode, then Comment mode. It does nothing while a comment is sending.
Read and manage threads in Notes
Click Notes (shortcut N) to open the list of comment threads, or open the Notes sheet on a phone. On desktop, Notes starts collapsed to a narrow strip at the side of the Page whenever you can read comments; expand it from the strip, and collapse or close it again from the panel.
Use Search to find text across threads, or open Filter notes to change what appears:
- Sort by date or Sort by unread
- Needs review, Show resolved comments, Only your threads, and Detached
- Update history (shown when the Page has published updates)
Resolved threads are hidden until you turn on Show resolved comments. When nothing matches, the panel reads No notes match these filters.
Open a thread to reply in the Reply box (it becomes Answer Turner when Turner has asked you a question). Click Mark as resolved or Mark as unresolved on the check button, or choose Resolve or Reopen from the thread menu on a phone. The thread menu also has Mark as read / Mark as unread, Follow in Turner / Stop following, and Delete thread, which asks Are you sure you want to delete this thread? before removing it.
Each comment shows who posted it:
- Turner for Turner's own replies.
- Connected agents show their own name, or Agent if the agent was removed.
- People who left or were removed from the organization have an Inactive badge next to their name.
- Deleted accounts appear as Former member with no photo.
Who can comment
Only people who can comment on a Page can read its comments. See Sharing and visibility for how Page roles work.
- Owners and Editor: Can read and post comments, start Turner revisions immediately, and use Edit text mode on desktop.
- Commenter: Can read and post comments. Tagging Turner waits for an editor's approval.
- Viewer: Cannot read or post comments, and cannot start a Turner request. The dimmed Comment button shows You do not have permission to comment on this page. with Request access, and Notes explains how to get access to the comments.
- Signed-out visitors on a Anyone with the link Page: Can open the composer and draft a comment, then are asked to sign in when they press Send. Their Notes panel shows Sign in to see comment activity. with a Sign in button.
